“I Am” Join us for something new on Sunday! Bring others! During service, 10am, we’ll be watching this short film, “I Am,” from Tom Shadyak, the director of BRUCE ALMIGHTY, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE. This is something completely different. After life altering injuries in a bicycle accident turn his world upside down, Tom turns his filmmaking to answering what “the nature of science and humanity,” really is. This film reveals the astounding evidence and ways we are all connected, not just to each other but to all creation! You will feel amazed and happy when you leave this! A fascinating, uplifting short film that asks the question, ”What is wrong with the world, and what can we do about it?” In the film, Shadyac conducts interviews with scientists, religious leaders, environmentalists and philosophers including Desmond Tutu, Noam Chomsky, Lynne McTaggart, Elisabet Sahtouris, David Suzuki, Howard Zinn, and Thom Hartmann. The film asks two central questions:[10] What’s Wrong With the World? and What Can We Do About it?. It is about "human connectedness, happiness, and the human spirit",[3] and explores themes including Darwinism, Western mores, loneliness, the economy, and the drive to war. The documentary includes animated scenes explaining scientific concepts,[8] as well as clips from the films Wall Street and It's a Wonderful Life.[11] - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_(2010_American_documentary_film)
A brilliant response to the dim SCOTUS ruling on the Masterpiece Bake Shop.🕯️🕯️🕯️ https://bit.ly/2JqC6x4

Even though the word "sin" turns my ears right off, this article let me hear it in a new way! Read the whole thing - let it take you to a deeper place. It will move you. http://www.ucc.org/daily_devotional_bearing?utm_campaign=dd_mar30_18&utm_medium=email&utm_source=unitedchurchofchrist
This is so beautifully articulated. I want people to know that the majority of people of faith should never be confused with evangelicals! There are so many of us that look to the model of Christ, as well as honoring other spiritual figures from history and myth, that want to say, "Amen!" after reading this. https://johnpavlovitz.com/2018/01/24/white-evangelicals-people/
Maybe God is just another word for "meaning"?
Why Church? ... to notice the meaning of time together
Believe in Science! Believe in Spirit! Believe in Wisdom!
Why Church? ... to remind us to keep growing!
What gets you through making hard choices?
Wishing the young ones who have been taking shelter then making mischief in our church home find more care in their hearts and creative loving activities to spend their time on!
